Hi Gary,

Your dad sounds like a wonderful person. I know what you mean, it’s all so confusing when you can’t throw the entire baby out with the bathwater (such a strange expression) because you’ve seen healthy and loving Christianity. The current mainstream iteration does seem to be an entirely cultural creation… After I wrote this article, I read Pagan Christianity by Frank Viola and George Barn and Zealot by Reza Aslan, both of which I found really interesting. Not entirely relevant to the topics in my article but tangentially relevant, if you’re interested and haven’t read them yet.
